Storytel is Northern Europe's largest audiobook streaming service and we are looking for talented and driven backend developers to join our team and help build a service that hundreds of thousands of people use every day to consume books.

As a developer at Storytel you will work with experienced developers across a wide field of technologies. Our team work with mobile apps development, backend development, Web development, DevOps and more. Our backend developers are focused on creating new services that are being run on Google Cloud Platform using Docker and Kubernetes. We use a variety of languages including Java, C#, Go, F# and more, and we feel that it gives us a clear advantage to be able to use the right tool for the job. You will be joining our cross functional markets tech team, where you will be developing features in the areas of subscriptions, sign ups, campaigns and authentication.

We have development offices in Copenhagen, Karlstad, Lund, Stockholm and Umeå. You are welcome to join us at the office that suits you best!



Expected experience and skills:

- Experience with JVM

About the role
As a developer in Ztorys Team, you will help develop the current Android app that our customers use. Ztorys Team focus is bringing the joy of colorful magazines and interesting articles to people around the world.

Where?
Ztorys headquarter is located in the center of the sunny town of Karlstad, but we have offices distributed geographically between Stockholm, Umeå, Lund, Karlstad and Copenhagen. We are primarily looking for this position in Karlstad.

Qualifications:
You are a Software Developer with a few years of hands-on experience developing Android apps. It is important that you think it is fun to grow and learn, both as a person and with our team. You have a passion for Android ecosystem and care deeply about delivering a high quality product. You speak and write English fluently. We work using agile methodologies in small and efficient teams that you will be an important part of.

- Existing experience with developing Android native apps
- Experience with React Native
- You are comfortable interacting with REST APIs
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in an Agile environment
- Ability to work independently and efficiently

Desirable skills:
- You have released and maintained Android-apps
- You have experience with testing frontend applications (UI, Integration, etc.)
- You have created one or more large React/React Native applications
- You have developed or have interest in iOS applications

Storytels tech department is growing fast and as we are branching out a fresh new team in our department we are now looking for a Tech manager to join us on our journey. As a Tech manager at Storytel you are responsible for one or several cross-functional teams of developers, designers and testers that all work together with a specific area or part of Storytels tech platform and apps. As a lead for strong tech professionals in R&D, technical leadership and a solid background in software development is a must, so that you are able to challenge and grow your team members. You will have the opportunity to influence the culture, facilitate technical delivery and work with your team on strategy and execution.

What you will do
- You will build and lead a team of developers, designers and testers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development
- Support timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs
- Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices and help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices
- Define the Roadmap and prioritisations in close cooperation with a Product Manager and make sure that your team consistently prioritizes the right things
- Be an active part of the Tech management team and collaborate with other leaders in the organisation
- You will be based in Karlstad, but occasionally travel to our other tech offices in Stockholm, Lund, Umeå and Copenhagen.

Where?

We have our headquarters on Riddarholmen in Stockholm but our teams are distributed geographically between Stockholm, Lund, Umeå, Copenhagen and now also Karlstad. The office in Karlstad is located in the city centre and you and the team will work inlight and welcoming office spaces.

About the role

As a developer in the Users Tech Team at Storytel, you will help deliver the platform connecting our global team of content managers with an extensive network of publishers and content providers. We continually strive to make it easier to provide our customers with the best content available. We take a polyglot service-based approach, each deployed in containers on Kubernetes at Google Cloud. You'll find Java, C#, F# and Go happily coexisting as discrete Docker containers, each with a simple purpose and role. We are looking for developers that are interested in learning and sharing their own knowledge.
